Infection Dev' Log: 1st Big Update

Infection Dev' Log : 1st Big Update

Happy (late) new year everyone!

Timeline

For the past months after releasing Infection I took a break from designing for a while. single handedly designing a game can take a lot out of you. I had to deal with school all the time so finding time to work on the game was getting harder any way. It was well into November I realized I hadn't touched it in more than three weeks. At first I brushed it off, but periodically I remembered the project and how I didn't want it to end up abandoned and forgotten like so many of my other ones. It was around the end of November and the start of December when I started generating new concepts for the game and reading up on my old notes on Infection. I started working on some code concepts and new design elements I wanted to add to my vision of the game. I however still did not touch the original file or  draw any sprites. It wasn't until about a week ago I even began thinking about jumping back in and laying down more code and fixing a few bugs, but finally after about a  three month wait it happened. I had two free days with nothing to do -- the perfect opportunity...

Actual Updates

I'm not ready to set a date of release yet but I'll post a few screen shots of new features and such, but here is what I have planned:

  •  A Dynamic lighting system
  • Fresh new player skins and a customizable avatar (don't get too excited its only a circle)
  • More soundtracks besides one just looping over and over (annoying I know!)
  • Sound effects
  • General revamp of some less appealing sprites
  • 3/10/2019 Edit: Now you can pause (much needed feature)
  • . . .and more (I don't want to promise too much and not deliver 😁)
